I spent much of 2022 working on this animation for Soundbone Traditional Arts Foundation. It is based on the Newfoundland song Tickle Cove Pond by Mark Walker and is a local favourite. I illustrated the frames and worked with animator Khamadi Ojiambo to bring it to life.
It made its debut at the 2023 Nickel Independent Film Festival. The aim it to use it as a learning aid in schools to teach about Newfoundland folk music.
The animation has been published on the Musical Map of Newfoundland and Labrador where you can also learn about other Newfoundland and Labrador folk songs, including interesting facts and lyrics.
