Well, me and the spouse are at it again (no rest for the wicked!). We’re busy planning the latest and greatest Wassail for the Folk Arts Society. For those who don’t happen to know what a Wassail is, it’s a time to get together with the community to sing favourite carols. A wee break from the hustle and bustle of the season if you will. To prevent anarchy we ask some talented musicians to lead us all in song.
Last year’s Wassail was one of the finest events the NLFAS has ever had the pleasure of presenting and we hope that this year will be even better still!
Hosted by CBC Radio’s Tom Power, this year’s line-up includes Andrew James O Brien, Pamela Morgan, Matthew Byrne, Chelsea Parsons, Duane Andrews and Darren Browne, Dave Penny, Holly Hogan and Allan Byrne, the Mummers and the Paupers, Jim Payne and Fergus O Byrne, Bob MacDonald, Dave Paddon, the STEP Fiddlers and you will just have to wait until the Wassail to find out who is doing the finale! And ya better be good in the meantime….
Tickets are $10 in advance at the office and O Brien’s Music and will be $12 at the door (cash only please!).
The doors will be open at 1:30 and we will be accepting non perishable food items at the show to support the Jimmy Pratt Memorial Outreach.
You can find this event on Facebook. Please share with all your friends to spread the word!
